Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 2026

1. Core Commitment: Local Processing

ExifScrub's image processing logic is executed entirely locally on your device. When you select an image to scan, crop, resize, or scrub, the file is read into your browser's temporary memory. Your images are NEVER uploaded, stored, transmitted, or backed up to any server owned by ExifScrub.

2. Information Collection

ExifScrub does not require an account, registration, or personal information to use its core image-processing tools. If you voluntarily contact us through our contact form, the information provided (such as email) is routed to a standard email client for customer support purposes and is not stored in any site database.

3. Analytics and Advertising (Third Parties)

While the image processing is strictly local, we utilize standard third-party services to keep the site operational and free:

  • Google AdSense: We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
  • Vercel Analytics: We may use basic hosting analytics to track aggregate page views and performance metrics. This data does not contain personal identifying information.

4. Metadata Extraction

When our tools parse the EXIF data of your files, the extracted text (like GPS coordinates) is strictly displayed on your screen via DOM manipulation. We do not intercept, track, or save the contents of your metadata.

5. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be updated on this page with an amended "Last Updated" date.
